Sexual harassment of two Delhi government school children

DCW said that the student alleges that the accused students had also threatened him not to tell anyone about the incident. The student said that he had informed his two teachers about the incident a few days ago, but they had asked not to register a case.

Police gave this information on Monday. Delhi government has constituted a committee to investigate the matter. Police said that the alleged incident took place in April during a school’s ‘summer camp’.

He said that two students, aged 12 and 13, have lodged separate complaints with the police that they were sexually assaulted by five to six classmates. He said that two cases have been registered in connection with these incidents.

Police said that all the accused are minors and they were produced before a Child Welfare Committee. He told that these matters are being investigated. Taking cognizance of the matter, Delhi Women Commission chief Swati Maliwal has sent a notice to the police and school management for action.

Meanwhile, leaders of the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have demanded the resignation of Education Minister Atishi. The party claimed that the condition of government schools in the national capital has “worsened” under the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) rule.

The 13-year-old eighth grade student alleged that during a summer camp in April, his classmates forced him to a park and sexually assaulted him, and also threatened him not to tell anyone, officials said. He told that the student got scared by this and he did not tell this to anyone.

According to officials, a few days ago those boys started harassing the student and he informed his teachers about the entire incident. On this the teachers asked him not to tell this to anyone.

Officials said that after this the student informed his parents about the incident, and then the parents called the police control room and informed them. The case was registered on Sunday. DCW said that it has received information about sexual harassment of two minors in a government school in Delhi. The Delhi government said in a statement that it is sad that such a despicable incident allegedly took place at a summer camp organized by the school.

The statement said, “An investigation committee has been constituted and a thorough investigation is going on in this matter. If any teacher or employee knew about this and did not inform it to higher authorities, then strict action will be taken against them. The statement said, “We can assure all of you that the Delhi government will not take any action against this.” Will take prompt and strict action on the matter. We want to set a standard of education in the country which includes character development in students. Such acts will not be tolerated…”

The student has said that in April he went to school during summer camp, where some students forcefully took him to a nearby park and sexually assaulted him for seven days.

DCW said that the student alleges that the accused students had also threatened him not to tell anyone about the incident. The student said that he had informed his two teachers about the incident a few days ago, but they had asked not to register a case.

The commission noted that another 12-year-old student has alleged that she was also sexually assaulted by the same students.

According to the student, she was sexually assaulted in the school toilet during the summer camp, the DCW said. The accused students had also threatened her not to tell anyone about the incident.

The student claimed that he told two of his teachers about the incident in July and August, but they told him not to tell anyone about the incident.

She said that the DCW has been informed that the boy’s parents came to know about the incident around six days back. When the child’s mother went to school, the professor allegedly asked her not to talk about the incident to anyone.

Maliwal posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Two boys aged 12 and 13 were sexually assaulted by boys from the same school in a government school in Shahabad Dairy area. Our team is with the affected children and families.

BJP’s Delhi unit president Virendra Sachdeva said that the Delhi government constantly claims to provide the best educational infrastructure and environment in schools for the students “but the fact is the negligence of the teachers and the role of the school management committee should also be probed.

Meanwhile, BJP workers, including party general secretary Kamaljit Sehrawat, protested outside the office of AAP MLA Vinay Mishra in Dwarka over the recent incident of around 70 children of a government school allegedly falling unwell after mid-day meal.
